Merchant PCI Compliance Program

PLEASE NOTE: Incorrect merchant numbers were printed on the letters. Please use the merchant number that appears on your statement. We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience.

In recent months you may have heard of various data breaches of credit card information. As you know, protecting your customer’s information is of the utmost importance. As a result, credit card organizations - Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover - along with other payment card companies have joined together to create the new Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, also known as PCI DSS. This new service will enable your business to more securely process credit cards to help protect your customers and minimize your costs and risks from a credit card data breach.

Please note that while participation in the program does help mitigate the risk of a security breach or data compromise, it does not guarantee or prevent it from happening.

As of January 1, 2010, all merchants nationwide must be compliant with the new PCI DSS by completing the Merchant PCI Compliance Program. As a participant in the PCI Compliance Program you will be charged a $2.50 administration fee monthly, beginning with your November 30, 2009 merchant billing statement; also you will be required to recertify your compliance policy every year in order to continue to process payment cards.

To ensure timely compliance, and to avoid any late fees or fines imposed by the credit card organizations, we are asking that all High Point Bank Merchant customers complete this compliance program by December 1, 2009. High Point Bank’s third party processor has made every effort to simplify this process for you. Simply click on the link below - your default user ID is your Merchant Number and your default password is your business telephone number.
